T-62 - 'Trezpaz'es Kanyakumari
After a hectic, but nonetheless, mundane week at TCS - ILP, our first weekend trip to Kanyakumari came as a refreshing break. Around 100 bleary-eyed associates loaded themselves into buses at 2.00am on Sunday morning (11th Sept), with the intention of basking in the first rays of the sun, on the southernmost tip of India. The journey was quickly transformed into a platform for interaction for our newly acquainted batch, through the likes of Anthakshari.
We reached Kanyakumari at 5.00am, with frigid wind blowing in our faces, chilling us to the bone & the ocean humbling us with its wide expanse. We watched in awe & with respect as the first rays broke beyond the dark horizon, as the sky transformed from inky blue to orange to a bright azure.
Our next destination was the Swami Vivekananda Rock, visible from the Kanyakumari seashore. This island temple, accessible only by ferry, is designed with wide open spaces, has a meditation room & a bookstore, with books on the Swami's life & his preaching. The striking factors about the temple are the cleanliness & the open spaces, so rarely beheld by us city dwellers. All in all, it had a soothing effect on our souls.
Most of the team building happens at such trips, since it is difficult to befriend sleeping souls during our lectures... (ha ha ha). Seriously, the TVM - ILP is a perfect transformation to professional life - what all of us have been waiting for.
